hello Iasha...
I WATCH (for many minutes) your photo and see a light I space them in the eyes of this child, IMHO but this photo is a MASTERPIECE. one simple scene of "daily" life transformed in one perfect reproduction in sepia tones (with a old effects)! the cut, the composition, the post-production, is PERFECT. also the choice - for me - (more or less) tried than "to cut" to the hand and the skillful arm is much pretty one.
the balance of the tonale range is advanced and finally a wonderful DOF reproduces a familiar context of the photo!
a very excellent shot...
