Hi Raamses,
This is a very interesting photograph. I have no doubt but that she looked exactly like this! Her face is honest...
I have learned over the years that black skin absorbs the light, therefore the very dark skin does need more exposure. It's easier to 'bring down' the other colors in the photograph to their normal colors in editing or printing. But if the darker skin doesn't get the exposure it's sometimes difficult to successfully lightned it to where you know it should be. And of course her hat is shading even more. Lower speed, larger aperature most likely would have been better. Sorry, I didn't mean to go on forever here! LOL YOU STILL HAD A GOOD EYE!!!! Lori :)
