Surely the second one is much better !!
But as you have a very good camera buing a polarizer (filter) you could solve some of the exposure problems in such cases!

Nothing could be really done with the temple cause it is grey(at least 90%) I have a very interesting close up but it is a little over exposed and you can see the details nice and clear. It worths seeing it that's why iam posting it.
