Interesting Knut. I think this would work better in black&white. I made a b&w version, adding some contrast (see attached).

Very interesting composition, Knut! I'm always a fan of photos from old rusty gears. This one only needs a tad more contrast, but otherwise, it is a very fine shot! I like the balanced composition, and the colours. The subtle use of DOF as well as the different levels make it very appealing to look at. I tuned up your image in Photoshop a bit (levels, contrast and saturation) Maybe a bit too much, though, but nonetheless I'm curious to hear what you think.
