Thanks Daniel,

I was probably using a drop in polarizer on my shot. I don't think a polarizer will help much with this particular shot. It was shot at about 10-11AM. The sun was already bright enough that the contrasts created by the reflections and the shadows were way too much range.

I had to make some choices with this one, I shot about 50 images at different settings, this was the least offensive. :) It was shot with a -2/3 exposure compensation

I just could not get the exposure much lower on the highlights and still keep the detail in the shadows I wanted.

I think you would need to be much closer and shooting with fill flash, or be shooting in early morning or evenings golden light to have a chance.

Nice scene. I have noticed that in the upper part of aligators, the reflexion is hard to control, I am not sure if a polarizer will improve this issue. I have shot crocks in the everglades and have noticed that before. I am attaching a sample to make myself understand, I hope you don't mind.
