Hi Raamses, Thanks for showing me the "desaturated" version. I'm feeling a bit ambiguous about it. The B&W version is somewhat more powerful, as it leaves more to the imagination. On the other hand, the subtle use of colour in the original one makes it more unusual, and thus appealing... Hope you know what I mean..... B&W is a tool to enhance an atmosphere, and maybe less suited to create one. At first, I thought B&W would've been the thing for this image, but now I've seen the B&W version, and I'm willing to go back to the coloured one. Difficult choice! I'd say Indecisive? Most likely!

Hi Raamses, Beautiful macro. Great watch too... Must've cost about a decent camera....;o) Good try on maximising the DOF, but I think a fairly shallow DOF works good on macro shots. It enables you to bring out certain aspects without the use of selective lighting. I notice even f27 is not enough to completely prevent an unsharpness! Incredible! I think this shot calls for B&W, as the tones are very subdued, (nothing wrong with the colour version, though, the subtle use of colour is very nice too)
I like this one. I find the use of f27 very interesting, good to know how shallow the DOF with a macro lens (or filters) is.... Thanks!
