About There's a distinctive style from the era of Japan's "bubble" economy. It looks pretty flamboyant and extravagant eleven years after the bubble burst. This echoing setting for boutiques selling expensive brands (largely deserted these days) is typical. Just look at the marble floors! and the ornate lighting.

Thanks for returning my visit, Karen. Glad you found and liked this one from a while ago... you might also enjoy "Concert Hall" in the architecture category (B&W)... a real favourite of mine from the same period of Japanese architecture. I revisited your portfolio and enjoyed seeing the photo of you with your daughter. My family resolutely refuse to be photographed. [sigh]

Great eye! I love the geometric patterns. there are so many beautiful details to look at. Great perspective, architecture can be such a fasinating subject to shoot, and I think you've done well.

The DOF and perspective are great and go in syncrony with the lines on the floor.

Sincerely,

Maria

excellent architecture.. i actually see two photos and think it would have been better to focus on the floor.. or the ceiling. there is almost too much to look at in this photo :) but have to agree that the floors and the lighting is great.. good work

Hi Roger, thanks for your narrative. I like the confusing patterns in this architectural stile. Flamboyant, indeed. Good shot, the materials and reflections in them create a fabulous commercial but also kind of inpersonal atmosphere. My compliments!

Cheers,

Hugo

An outstanding contribution to this month's project, Robert. Superb exposure and great lines, together with the presence of a few passers-by, make for an excellent shot!
Well done!
Kind regards, Chris
