dear jon,
today seems to be my day, i see so many wonderful and perfectly captured pictures. i am also enthusiastic about this one. a little longer lens might have brought it to perfection, but this water and the feathered couple, like a dream come true (for a photographer).
thank you ever so much for your wonderful comment on 'windows of dreams'. it seems we have some urge for water and reflexions in common?

Hi Jon, I like the compositions horizontal orientation; The harons looking to the oposite site are quite a good addition to the composition, but not the prime subject, IMHO. The tones are beautiful, as is the reflection of the reed in the water. Quite a few JPEG compression errors, though. They make the photo seem a bit blurred, which it isn't. Still quite a nice shot!

Rather poorly composed, washy colored, softish shot. And what would I suggest you do to improve it? Crop 25 percent off the top & bottom then try and get some contrast without blowing out the egret (even more).
