She makes her own way in the world by the look in her eyes. In her eyes I see not a tyrant or persecutionist, but a person who was a strong will and compassion for humankind. Am I right or am I wrong? That's not what matters, but what matters is the impression in the photograph.
I like what you said about art and rules in your autobiography. Rules are good for when a person is beginning to learn their art. You learn the rules so that you know how to break the rules with intelligence and perhaps compassion, wit, humor, and even anger when it is suitable. Rules should never rule over art. But art should never dictate rules either. Art redefines itself and changes, so rules have a limited life span. Each must go his own way for the sake of art.

Eu tentei fazer uma foto assim com a luiza, acho que é a "Waiting" mas não chega aos pés da sua!
Auela ilhota, fica em Guaratiba, aqui no Rio!Tenho ido muito na colônia de pescadores e, pretendo ir até a ilha na semana que vem. Quero ver aquela ruína de perto!

Excellent portrait.
Only thing that bothers me a bit is the bright spot on her ear,
Must be reflecting something back from the lights.
Maybe you could get rid of it in PS.
