I've always wanted to know what a Joshua Tree is (besides the name of a U2 album) and now I know! I've learned my thing for today!
This is a perfect example of how photos can become extraordinary in late day light. The warm oranges and yellows contrast perfectly with the blue sky. This whole scene is wonderfully exposed. My one criticism with this photo is that it seems a little bottom heavy, with the cloud, the rocks, and most of all, the shadow dominating the lower half. The shadow on the ground isn't bad, as it subsides just at the base of the rocks, but I wish it wasn't obscuring your tree! Nature isn't always cooperative with photographers though, and I think this is an admirable job nonetheless. :)

Exellent! Here, in this image, the white cloud really makes the composition extra special. Beautiful light too. :)
