I found this little guy chillin on my camera bag when I went to go put my camera away after shooting at a creek near my house. I really like this photo because the out of focus strap from the bag in the background really gives a nice perspective to the size of the bug. The bug was about 3/8 of an inch long.
Hi Christopher, In my opinion this shot has a lot of potential but could have been improved somewhat. Firstly (though the jpeg may mislead), it appears that the focus is more on the insect's legs and the strap he's standing on than on his eye and wing surface, which would be for me the major points of interest. Your comment about the out of focus camera strap doesn't really work for me because it's not immediately obvious what the background is, or what size it is, so the sense of scale that you see doesn't work as well for me. I would perhaps crop far tighter on the insect and the patterns of the strap and zip he's standing on, as in the attached crop. Chris
