Well Maggie, you are correct that is flair. But flair is not universally bad. Here it adds to the suralistic look. As for shooting from a different side, that building is covered with a like groth from the deades of disrepair. I have other images of the same building front that have no flair and were shot in the B&W mode. I raher like the "color" version and think the flair adds. Have a look at the more traditional, without flair IR image below.

Hi Joe...looks like you have some flare happening here. Not sure what the other side of this building looks like but I think you need to shoot it from a different angle. Shooting towards the sun is creating this flare and the purplish color you are getting.

Go try this again...shot some scenics that are evenly lit so you can get a feel for how an IR shot should record...and try to have the sun behind or to either side of you when shooting...hope to see some more...*smile*...Maggie
