Hi Kim, this is a very nice shot...it is quite difficult to get close without distarcting them...I'm not an expert, but a few things I've noticed...on sunny days they are (like us) much more active and far more difficult to shoot...on cooler, cloudy days they sit still and pose much better (ha ha). It also helps to have a camera where you can enlarge to a size where you retain detail, yet have a nice and big enough photo to view without a magnifying glass. I've had to do this a lot with my butterfly shots...shoot from about two metres and then crop afterwards...
Anyway, happy hunting..and keep going...when you get close, take a lot of photos...easy for me to say with my digital camera of course, but it helps, because many photos are thrown away in the end...

The mysterious grudge which is the butterfly and the flower there is a blue color and it is a good photograph.

Great macro shot with nice composition and perfect use of DOF.
Kim, about my photo, I did't hemember if in that photo especificly I used a circular polarizer. I just that waterfall I taked two rolls of film. I think I did't use because that shot was one of the last ones and the light was alredy a bit low and a little bit weak. Thanks for the comment.

It's very pretty. Color seems to be a bit off on the flower. The butterfly though is wonderful and your focus is really good on this photo.
