About	I've been looking for one of these for a while. The normal Robber Fly here (Thailand) is a little white dude. These are fairly rare. Fortunatly he was being VERY cooperative. I'll post a picture tomorrow to show how cooperative he was. Natural light.

like i said david.. you are literally living in Rain forest conditions.. and you have no shortage of finding exotic bugs. Here in No. America.. all we can find is Flies.. and nothing else.. and i have to literally eye ball for flies or other insects if at all they exist .. i am looking forward for a trip to India next summer.. all i have to do is go to a fruit stall where they have open and cut fruits.. and things likes fruit flies will just stick to it.. like glue.. great colors.. and shot..

A super-sharp portrait of a very beautiful robber fly! My only complaint is that you have cropped off the tarsal claw of its hind legs, David! Robber flies are also very common in my part of the world too (Borneo) but insect diversity are greatly reduced in the heavily planted mono-crop plantation where I live and work. So I haven't seen these guys for quite some time now. Look at my "V Bug".
