I went to York (UK) looking for reflections in/on/of architecture, and had a rubbish day mainly due to dreadful weather, finding nothing until I chanced to look back over my shoulder on the way to the station. First roll of Neopan I tried - really liked it, the bridge in the print has a great texture.
This is beautiful, I guess the scanner prevented the bridge and building from being very sharp, I think that would improve this picture. But the reflection is awesome.
Hi Petros, Thanks a lot for your comments on this and other photos. You're right, the upload looks soft - this may be a result of my current naff scanner because my original A4 print is sharp, though perhaps not razor. Dusted off my 4 year old flatbed when I joined usefilm. Filmscanner is next on my wishlist. For this shot the camera was braced between two bricks on a wall that formed a convenient L shape to brace base and side of the camera. I was travelling light that day, which is not ideal - but didn't expect to be doing anything after dark. For such shots I now have a brilliant little tabletop tripod that folds up so small I could almost get it in a coat pocket. If I get back to York I'll do some more of this area and won't be rushing for a train :) I'll try out Neopan 100 on your recommendation - the 1600 was recommended to me by a helpful semi-pro bloke over here who actually handed me the roll I used for the above photo with a "try this - it rocks!" Chris
Hi Chris, this is a very nice subject. Did you use a tripod? Is the print sharp? For some reason the upload seems a little soft... By the way, Fuji Neopan is one of my favourite B&W films. I haven't tried the 1600, but I absolutely love the 100 ISO version. Keep posting :-)
