It would have been nice if you had used willow branches instead of pine needles--then they would have been shaped more like his hair and blended better. Just kidding! Pretending I was one of my clients.

There are so many technical things you could have done but this photo is not about technique--it's about the boy.
kim, the softness is due to the multiple exposure and the dark sky blending in with the green backround. yes, and the focus part of the hair is due to the same colors. thanks for the comment
I like the way the branches frame your brothers head, although I am a little confused as to why all of the picture has a soft look to it, except at the very top, where your brother's hair is totally in focus and sharp. I guess it's just on both exposures it was almost the same colour? Anyways interesting idea and I think it worked well here.
