About From a documentary I am doing on life and death. These individuals are from the Momias de Guanajuato (The Mummies of Guanajuato). They were preserved in the mineral-rich local soil. Not enough space left in the cemetery apparently, so they were exhumed and this grisly ensemble is now placed on display for tourists...

There are many more, some with very well-preserved clothing, boots and whatnot. There's even one in another tableaux who was clearly buried alive. Strangely compelling in its grotesqueness.

Thank you Tom! You have given me a lot to ponder. However, I understand you well, and you have made your point powerfully. I am most grateful that you took the time and trouble to comment.

Warm regards,

Anthony

"I recognize him. The man totaly on the left, he is my daughter's ripper!"
That's my first impression. To be in front of police theck up people. (scuse my sente but i don't know how to say it, but i tried).
Great atmosphere for the subject. It's create perfectly the tones for a picture like that. Particularly, the effect for a big ISO. I don't know how to explain it in english. The choice for B/W is really judiciou.
Great job.

Outstanding, and looks like you've photographed in difficult circumstances. The two on the left would make a great image on their own.
Regards, Gary

Thank you Saad. On technicals, photography was forbidden here, so I had to ramp up ISO an insane amount to avoid flash drawing attention to my presence.

Best wishes,

Anthony

Thank you James, and yes, you have completely lost it - I knew it was coming having watched your increasing interest in poppies of late :P

Haha, NO. It's funny, I didn't quite know what to expect in this place, and of course I was the tourist. It's some kind of atavistic fascination with mortality, I'm sure.

Thanks for your comments, I see you go from strength-to-strength in your work, and I'm a big fan.

Very evocative image! Anthony, It reminds of the 'Three Monkeys'. Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speek no Evil. What do you think?, maybe I need help! LOL.... Kind Regards.....JIM.

Amazing subject ...the reflection of the man wearing a hat in 3 spots adds to the drama of this image...Congrats

Thank you Anne. It was as much out of sympathy for your otherwise automated and uninformative comments on many images, vide: excellent!

Well-spotted Marcio. NO - I should be embarrassed if I wore such a hat. I wear a boater in hot countries haha!
