Yes Ray, not a easy topic to also have to live. With your help Ian will do well. It is something we will all deal with when it is our time as well. I hope that God shows Ian some mercy when that time comes. You are a good man and know that you will do all that is possible for Ian.
Be well my friend, Stan

Hi again Stan. I'm sorry to hear about your Mother my friend. Parkinson's is a close relative to Ian's dememtia and unlike other dementias Ian will be totally aware right up to the very end. Pneumonia, stroke or swallowing will be involved in the end, it doesn't bear thinking about. His particular dementia is still very rare, there is no treatment available and obviously no cure. It is called Corticobasal Degeneration and the prognosis is just awful.
What will be will be. I will be with him to the very end. Enough!
All the very best Stan, take care of you and that wonderful family of yours.......Ray

Thanks Ray, I was just dialing in a new 40d and seeing what it would do with a small zoom macro I have that I got on Ebay. I was pleased with the results. The tones and detail were very good. So glad that Ian has you as a brother. You are a class act to be involved in his care. It is so good that he can make the most of such a tragic situation. I lost a mother to Parkinson's and it literally devoured her in 10 mos. I spent as much time as I could with her while she was able to function enough to know I was there. At the end she slipped into a toxic coma from not being able to swallow. It was a hard battle and I was glad I was able to give some comfort before she slipped away.
Be well my friend, Stan

A wonderful offbeat still life my friend with incredible details and textures. The monocromatic conversion is superb, well done Stan.
Many thanks for asking after Ian my dear friend. I spent three days with him in all last week. Shopping, paperwork and company. I see him usually twice but I just play it by ear. I ring him every evening so that I can catch his mood and ascertain how he is coping. He still lives on his own as we wish for him to have as much independence as possible. He will, in the fairly near future, go into full time residential care as his movements become ever more restricted. I am so full of admiration of him for his amazing sense of humour. He is just fantastic Stan.
My very best wishes to you as always.......Ray

Good to hear you are better, this time of year is hard to miss the bugs. I am the only one here that is not fighting a bad cold and hacking cough. Hope I can miss it. Have a good week, Stan

Thanks Shirley, just playing to see what I could make out of a common post and nails I saw. The color version had some nice colors of rust on the nail. I liked the contrast and tones in the b/w a lot so here it is. I liked the shadow of the wire running parallel with the front nail. Hope your flu is going away!
Be well, Stan

Thanks Stan, I did not have the coffin of democracy in mind but that is one way to look at it. I would rather live here than a lot of other choices of broken leadership. The strong will survive no matter crazy it gets. I had a great night watching music and reading of poems and stories in a small town tonight. It was wonderful!!
Be well, Stan

Thanks Parehan, I was torn between the b/w and the color. This was some extra contrast and a good out of camera shot.
