Thanks so much Erland. I appreciate the comment. This is the image before the crop. Wanted to bring the flower into front with a tight crop! Be well, Stan

Thanks for the "NO COMMENT" Arian, I will definitely take that as a compliment. This was a case of having a camera with me when I had a surprise opportunity for the capture. Be well, Stan

Hi RG, sounds like some real work in the land of make believe. I find Vegas a place of illusions as well. Hope that the weekend is quick and painless for you, I know the economy is starting rear it's head for all of us. Never a fun prospect, especially in the marketing arena! Be real and you will get by. As always be well and do not tell HEHEHE! Stan

I will try to make to the pub (thank you for the suggestion) but unfortunately won't be able to take pictures. I am not even taking my camera. I won't have time for that as I am booked with meetings all day at the conference center and at night I must entertain clients but I am ok with that as I am not a fan of Vegas at all. I find that place so fake, I really wish I wasn't going but will try to make the best of it :)
Your technical skills are just fine GG, you need to give yourself more credit :)
Have a great weekend my dear friend.
Big hug, RG :)

Hello my sweet RG!! Thanks for the nice words, so glad you liked it.. Vegas is a nice contrast from the Big Apple.. Go to NEW YORK NEW YORK, they have a pub called Nine Fine Irishmen. I saw some great live music there the last time I left some things in Vegas. It will be a good place to let some stress off and get some great shots. Your photography is really growing and I love seeing your new efforts. This has been a great forum for me to try and find my groove. Thanks for your constant and kind support. My technical skill is coming around little by little and is so fun to see what you thought you shot, download it and there it is. Life is good, the hell with the D.C. circus, I have my mountains and big sky. Will not let them take that from me!! Be well and have a great Vegas trip!! Your GG

Hi Udayan, Thanks so much for your interest. It was a dead bug on the petal. I noticed it after I took the shot. I bought this lens on Ebay. It is a film lens from the EOS series. It was from the late 80's. Not a true macro but a wonderful lens for $80.00 american. This lens on my Canon Rebel is converts to 56mm-112mm. I can use for portrait and good all around lens. The Bokah is wonderful and the auto-focus is pretty quite for it's age. I took this shot at 70mm macro and was about 40cm away from the flower leaning out my truck window. The bank teller was laughing at me. If you cannot afford an L lens I recommend these earlier Canon lenses for the right price. Better built than the new plastic lenses. Optics are very clear on this lens. Many of my images posted on this site were with this lens. Check out the portfolio and let me know what you think!! Be well, Stan

Beautifully composed with great colors, details and patterns dear GG. Hope you are having a good week my friend. I am a bit stressed with work preparing for an upcoming conference in Vegas, I don't know who had the stupid idea of having a conference in Vegas...LOL but one thing is for sure "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" :) Be well my friend. oh typo error I wanted to ask "is that a flower ""bug"" on the left petal"

Great shades of the flower Stan ! Is that a flower on the left petal ? If you had moved in closer to the flower, could the lens "Canon EF 35-70mm" take more of 'macro shot' ? I understand the minimum focus of the mentioned lens is 39cm. I'm doing a research on canon lenses that will work as macro n normal view shots (pssst... a secret... for my future purchase 50D) ;)
Regards Udayan
