Thanks a lot, Joggie! Indeed, they were there and I didn't even notice! The thumbs give not quite the impression of close-ups for whatever reason. But they are exactly what I meant.
I can't imagine how such a series of images could bore the spectators... For me it would mean a very thorough and interesting study. But on the other hand I am really too much for series of images.
Cheers!
Nick

Thanks Nick for the generous comment. I literally hundreds of close-up shots of the rock patterns cause by the geological erosion and lichens growing on the rockfaces. "Karoo Impressions 4 & 5 " are just two examples. I will upload several more - trying to give a variety, not to bore the UF members with the same kind of photos all the time. Regards. Joggie

And what great impression this one is, Joggie! The details and the coloring of the rocks make the place very tangible. And I don't mean only the big red ones in the background but also (and even more??) those on the foreground together with the natural distribution of plants and vegetation. You got an extremely well balanced lighting here, that allowed all details to be revealed to the spectator in very vibrant but absolutely not exaggerated colors!
BTW, any chances to post some close views of special formations of the rocks some day? I guess that nature must have sculptured the one or the other small masterpiece there? Anyway, thanks a bunch for bringing us to places that the typical tourism would likely ignore.
Cheers!
Nick

The great contrast creates a very nice texture and a big depth in the rocks, a tridimensional feeling, and also makes trasparent the sky. Excellent work, Joggie, ispired by your love for the place, I like to believe. Take care.
