About this was taken in Nevada City,Mt.This is a preserved mining town from the 1860 gold rush. It has a historical tour or you can walk through it as you please. This is the deputy sheriff of the town. There are numerous people in era clothing that walk through the town for this historical sight.

Thanks Andy, I was partial to the color as well. I agree about the separation from the background. This was a quick shot from across the dirt street as the Sheriff was opening up this building.
Be well, Stan

Good composition. I like both the color and the B&W versions. I think the color makes him stand out more from the background which further highlights the subject.

Andre, thanks for the interest and thanks for the previous post of your's. Timeless is what the photo can do. Stop the world, I am ready to get off. Sometimes more ends up being a lot less. However my Rebel beats all the chemicals and cumbersome equipment of days gone by. There are always trade offs and no real do overs. Thanks for sharing your photo. Be well, Stan

I know what you mean Stan.
I took some images of some old houses years ago, that no longer exist. I guess they were not important enough to save at the time. But, it is our loss. At least we have the photographs.

This is one of a set of about four images that I posted when I first joined here. I took them well over 30 years ago. The old house no longer exists. My brother is now 45 with a daughter older than he was at the time this was taken.
Hope you like them.

Andre, thanks for the comment. This area is rich with old structures, mines and grain elevators, etc. I enjoy trying to capture and record some of this before it is lost to subdivisions and progress, what ever that is. Seems like digress at times. Be well, Stan

Hi Stan,
Your images of this old mining town remind me of "Deadwood".

You've got to love that old barn board for being so photogenic. I remember some of my first semi serious images were of an old house from the turn of the century. The barn board looks great in B&W or sepia too.

Dave, thanks, the preservation society does a wonderful job here. Really makes it come to life with the period clothes and friendly atmosphere. Stan

I like this one Stan but i agree with Pablo. Seeing you missed his feet in the haste of the action, I think the crop does look better. Cheers Keith:)

Great capture of him in the doorway of the old barn, Stan! He looks really realistic in those clothes.

Pablo, great crop and b/w. I missed the feet when I took the shot. It was a quick shot and was just trying to capture the moment. I appreciate your time to show me this. Thanks for the help and honesty. Be well. Stan
