Nice red waterfall. You have a very good eye to spot the opportunity, now you need a bit more of technique to get the focus spot on and best depth of field. Although the lens might be a problem for the latter.

Excellent focus and dof Julie..nice rich colors and a great crop as well and title ..what I especially like is the light (?) coming thru the BG like little drops of rain (?)

yeap... the flash will 'see' the flower, don't afread the reflections (that is why we need fast exposure...for excample an 1/200 ...that needs some test shots because of the natural lighting...)
the most of my macros (with black background) taken with that way...

amazing flowers or WHAT! perfect, original (never seen these before)
I think you must try someting dear Julie... try to take the close up using a middle aperture (like f/12) low ISO speed like ISO100 or 200, fast exposure and flash... the result will be strong colors with black background...yeap... without studio or black paper at the back...

Hi my dear Arif, I agree with you. Photographing that day was very difficult, it was the opening of the orchid show and there were a ton of people around. I want to go back one day when it is less busy to get some additional shots. Thank you so much for your feedback as always.
