What I find so remarkable on thsi one, Paul, is that it really doesn't even try to produce some kind of the usually accepted sense for "elegance" - not at all! It just says, I'm the one you warned me of, and it say that with such a clarity and natural acceptance of the own being, that it turns elegant in its own way. Melissa made the absence of styling to a styling itself - per excellence! She really fits that kind of chaotical dressing/looking perfectly!
"... and Mister, call me "guilty" if you like, I really care so much about it!" - this is what I must think of when I see this.
And I think that the washed out coloring is a big plus here - it doesn't create any kind of "beautified" sight, which really wouldn't match the atmosphere. Still you caught her eyes very impressively - not any kind of diva look, but rather straight and unmistaken.
Now, if that could be taken to the endth degree with some more metal accessories, nails and the like - but OK, it doesn't have to be exit to heavy metal always, ey? ;-)
Those kids in cities do push the limits, since after some certain time their ideas get injected even into the big houses of fashion. But when that happens they are again already miles ahead, which is a great thing to happen. I wonder if the "big masters" of creativity would take time to think about the rather independent role of such "sub-cultures" that don't even care being acknowledged as "creators".
