Morning glory is also called asagao (in Japanese, a compound of ? asa "morning" and ? kao "face"). Please don't think I'm brilliant this came straight from wikipedia. Let me describe this shot a little. First as always to separate the subject from the background I use my trusty black cloth. I really wanted to see the veins in the leaf so I decided to backlight it. I did this with a simple flash light shinning from the bottom. Because of low light and the backlit leaf I had to find a way to get the details of the flower to show. If I'm not mistaken, I chose a piece of common typewriter paper for a reflector. It's amazing what you can get if you just put your mind to it and don't just point and shoot. They all can't look good... but after a good dark beer and some good imagination and of course a little patience ...... who knows. I would really like to think everyone who takes the time out to comment on my images. It does two things. Gives me confidence to keep trying and helps me through another day. Sometimes the business side of photography is a little hard to take. If any one is interested in seeing what I photograph for a living go to www.accent-photography.net or the sight for some of my personal stuff try here www.waterscapesphotography.com. I'm not trying to sell anything... Just wanted to let everyone know when they say starving artist... I know what they mean, later Jeff Oh yeah this was actually shot at 13 seconds at f/32
