Dear Baha!
Many thanks for your kind comments. And Shirley is such a dear friend! :) Finally I reply to you very late, but I am in much pain with my broken elbow... (which is why I have not been in UF for so long...my elbow requires surgery. I find even small tasks like typing hugely difficult... especially frustrating too, is not being able to hold a camera...) My best wishes to you and your's, and thank you for your kind wishes. Have a wonderful 2008. Aniko :)

Very good workflow details. It definitely helps understanding ones thought process and goal. And secondly, I believe, no matter what you use, the final presentation is what it matters, but at the end of your creation, it should convey what the artist wants to portray. To me, you are very successful in achieving that and it gives immense inspiration seeing how much dedication, time and quality effort you had before you came up with this stunning composition. Its a painful feeling to portray, and your composition truly stands among the best and depicts what happens when hunger strikes!! Take a bow. All the very best dear Aniko, and regards, Bhabesh

Dear Mike!
I would like to say a big "ooops" to you :) When I replied to your highly appreciated comments, I was very tired and replied twice and with many typos! I am an insomniac and a weary head often makes mistakes.
Thank you again for your excellent comments, and apologies for having doubled up (typos included... lol...) in my reply to you.
Best Wishes, Aniko :)

Hi Aniko and thanks a lot for the reply that does make me think further about the subject. Emotions are real, you say, and so let's take a closer look to what science says about that.
It is already completely known that emotions are only the "felt" symptoms of simple chemical reactions in a rather complex body of interdepending processes, that at the end are perceived as something "etherial" but still are nothing more than very material things. This of course does not mean that one should say, let's forget about them. Not at all!
The thing to care about is only that they should be accompanied by some amount of attention to not let them be excessively used in that exaggerated manner that for example turns a poem to a collection of kitsch lines.
And your behavor, saying "I am an artist" does support that kitschy approach, since none of the greatest artists on this worls has claimed that attribute for him/herself! It is the characteristicum of the amateur, to base the own work on the assumed own property of "being an artist". Or for example saying about the own work "this image has much symbollogy" which manifests nothing else but a rather shallow consideration of the own work, not to speak about the right usage of terminology which is the least that a dedicated artist should know by reading. It is like tapping on the own shoulders, and at least at that moment the selfrepresentation reaches unbelievably selfconvinced heights.
On to the image now, it is quite obvious that it is 70s-like, and anybody claiming to be an artist should at least notice that, or else it has to be assumed that there was no real dealing with such matters. There is no difference whether using or not using PS, and as I already said, it is how one uses it. Filtering and applying effects alone is for the kids! That's the differnce! I am afraid that this great piece of software will still get violated that way for the next 100 years, by people that think that apllying some effects is enough for arts! This way, you could take just about any image, apply your changes and create arts in the tones scale, which of course inflates production to simply making kitsch!
But on the other hand, the programmers of yet another filter have to earn for living too, or don't they?
Best filtering wishes,
Nick

Dear Nick!
Emotions are real, therefore I can't see how "reality" was weakened in any way.
And I knew exactly what I was looking for and achieved what I set out to. Must I always detail every single filter I applied? For me, that is rather tedious. I cut to the chase as to what I did to create this body of work. Otherwise the "about" would be so long, it would be absurd!
Nick... I am an artist, whether my work is to your taste/liking or otherwise. I use my skills in photoshop and outside of photoshop. What difference does it make?
In the end, all is subjective within the creator and also through the eyes of the viewer.
Yes, the image is rather "seventies"... I'm pleased you noted that, as it was my aim to put a seventie's "spin" on this one. Therefore it seems obvious to me that the image is a "success".
Best Wishes, Aniko :)

Interesting in its coloring and segmentation of reality, though the segmentation went a bit too far, Aniko, and weakened its own subject, namely reality - even if the term is only subjective.
"Many lighting and other filters".. is that another way to say, "I don't know what I was looking for?". But the purely ptical magnet are the fractal shapes at the left side of her hair. It reminds me of some old "quick arts" in the seventies, when suddenly everybody was an artist, but still those fractals add an element of the more contemporary ways. And so again, "many filters" could be just about anything but not necessarily what and above all *why* you chose them.
Best wishes,
Nick

I have a thing for 1973 and 1974... :)
Perhaps I should use this in MY next album cover! Thanks for the idea... :)
And true, the colours that enhance/stimulate hunger.appetite are the reds, oranges and warm yellows/golds. Not only at fast food outlets. Ever noticed how restuarants in cool colours (blues, greens etc) serve tiny meals on a (usually) plain white plate, charge the earth for it, and somehow one feels as though the meal was HUGE! Smart cookies, 'eh??? I don't like those restuarants ... hehehe... However, the "hunger" title was not really intended to be about hunger for food... lol...

Hi Colin!
Thank you so much! You're not wrong... a lot of work has gone into this! I am not so sure that PS has made it easier and faster as I have made "similar" images in the physical dark room that have probably taken around the same amount of time. One difference is that I only do B&W work in the dark room and I wanted this to be colour.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Much appreciated.
Hugs~ Ani :)

Hello Aniko Another fascinating piece of art from you Ani a very hot image, a lot of work has gone into this creation it is amazing how photoshop has made the proceesses easier and faster, to create this work in the darkroom would have been a long an arduous task in the "old" days. Well done Ani and keep up the good work!

What (in this day and age) is photography anyway??? LOL! I prefer and usually shoot with old FILM cameras (mainly 70's and 80's Minoltas... yes.... still today "professionally...)
I also paint, (literally) play in PS... art is art and if I am able to express myself, whatever the media... well.. good!
Your kind comments are highly valued.

Hey Mike!
These days what is 'photography' anyway? I am so not sure,,,, all art is art, whatever the media employed; and sure in this image there is photographic technique at hand,, to some degree. :)
I used to "judge" photoraphy before it went "muli-media".
To me, tbrough any meduim now, ... art is art.. take or leave it.:)
We "grow"... any meduim now, althuogh I totallty prefer REAL FIM is work from the soul. And thus we progress..............
Heartfelt thabks, Aniko :)
