Hehe. Cool shot, James.
No, I live in San Antonio, but my brother lives in Gig Harbor, and I've been up there several times (and LOVE it).

I agree completely with you James. Even I would do so myself. It's just that I have seen some others work magic like that.. and I just didn't know how you would look at it.. that's why I kept on saying that forgive me if I am being impertinent. :)
Good to know we think alike !!! If you EVER get to go out there and shoot again, do let me see your work!!
All the best, Always, Avi

Avi - That sounds like a lot of post-processing work. I'd rather be out shooting. I suppose I could have stepped beyond the trio and shot again to get something like you suggest. I'll keep that in mind for the future, but for me I'd rather shoot (than spend time in PS)--even if that means re-shooting repeatedly. Feel free to post your version in this thread.

I apologise for not making myself clear. What I meant by 'losing' was if, in some way (coz I have seen others work magic like that) you could use some post-processing to clone out that area, and just fill it with a portion of the sky.
Once again, forgive me if I am being impertinent. It is actually an awesome piece of work, which I find would just be perfect with that one healing touch. Again, personal opinion !!
cheers ! Avi

Avi - Thanks. I would lose a lot making a crop that tight. I would lose a large section of sky, the three figures you mention (which are not entirely silhouetted), and the bridge. I think the crop you suggest could be a good one, but it would be a very different final product.
|
No color work on this crop because I'm lazy. |

SUPERB James. Just a little suggestion: Forgive me if I am being impertinent, but if you could lose the leftmost three silhouettes (the bigger ones) and just keep the small ones, with the slope running down to the bottom left, I think it would be just PERFECT !!!!
I would like to know your thoughts.

This has to be the best of your more common shots, James. The silhouettes in front of that burning warm nightsky, the small groups of people everywhere in the distance and in the front, the hill - I almost feel the photo and that“s a good thing. Had there been a concert or sth. similar? Maybe a Luxpoet reading?

AJ - Thanks. Yeah, what I really love is the individual limbs of the folks on the right. The three figures on the left are just barely not silhouettes and I think that adds another something (albeit rather subtly).

Great silhouettes against the colours of the sky. There's lots to look at in the shapes and poses, but I particularly like the contrast between the full silhouettes on the right and just the heads on the left.
