Lonely and scared, she sits in the dark, wondering what comes next. This was shot for an assignment with a theme of "Fears". This was not my original concept, but that one didn't pan out and this shot sort of emerged serendipitously. I had some sharper versions of the shot, but I liked the grittier feeling here. I lit the scene using a cheapo household flashlight suspended from the ceiling with tape. (That's why the light on her face is a bit more severe than I would have preferred.) My lovely daughter Samantha, is the model.
