Stunning, a very difficult shot about the framming, really you must be at a perfect angle to take that image, good one with not strong tilt and lens ball like effect, very nice texture too. Cheers!

Excellent shot. The building seems to be still active. We got lots of these around here but unfortunately they are abandoned or turned into "assisted living"

Thank YOU for the detailed critique Doyle---I followed it as best I could. I followed it well, understanding your points as I did come accross many New to me problems on this one-- You probably did notice that I was very relieved when I recieved my first comment( think it was Jan) and there was no mention of crocked lines + tilts cause I knew they were looking pretty strange to me.
This was one image I should NEVER have tried to FRAME is what I think now as framing just emphisis, and encloses these problems, right ??? A thinner black line ... OK -- I think You gave me a high rating because it is a rare exception and could not totally be fixed --only percieved better after years of training (?) I appreciate your time to explain and honestly I actually get even more interested in this type of image - (?) In some ways ---
Thank You Again King Of Cool :) Mucho Appreciation, Michele~

Detailed Critique:
There is no 'final analysis' on this one Michele. You captured it and you captured it well. I gave you a 7/7.
This is one of those rare exceptions to centrality in composition as the subject has a symetrical and abstract feel to it. I know leveling it was an issue for you since you can see clearly that the lower row of window panes has a decidedly left side downward slant to it. Still, the lines across the top (see the attached yellow line across the white blocks) and the central ridge line seem level.
Now, intuitively, we know all the lines are straight . . . but they're not in this image (or in any image) and Martin's shift tilt lens would cost a mint and STILL not fix the problem . . . although it would hide it (in many cases -- like this one) by making it far less noticable. Perspective is the issue. So . . . If we know they're straight, how do we level? Answer: Select the axis that gives the most impact, which you more or less did instinctively (I'm guessing using the central ridge and verifying distance to the frame using the white blocks). Basically you have to reduce the obvious spatial distortion brought on by perspective to something that's not too distracting.
The same issue exists in the sides but is less noticeable. See the Up facing yellow arrows? They are not parallel. In real life, they are but from any given point our view of them is not so that our mind can give us the depth perception. These yellow arrows . . . given time . . . would cross each other at a point referred to as the vanishing point . . . :)
The red top, left and right triangles, like the horizontal issues . . . cannot be helped - they are remnants of the much lesser degree of the same issue on a vertical plane. They are part of the perspective and you have them ALMOST exactly the same . . . but doubt it could be improved given the way this shot was framed.
Rich vivid colors and an interesting subject. While not as poetic as our Dear Onie . . . I hope you followed how I critiqued the shot and why I gave it the 7/7. :)
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
PS: Thinner black borderline (IMO) :)

~~GRIN~~ Michelle... Love it...:)))
The shapes and textures go without saying... but the little touches of green on the central ledge, courtesy of the firm *Decoration by Nature*, give the finishing touches...:))) A bit like miniature cushions on a giant settee... ;)
Extra nice visual Michele...:)

You're so very Bad! Although it did bug the mess out of me at 1st, but not anymore! I'm changing my attitude regarding such matters... ;)
I do have a fix, but there again, it's a bit costly... :( ... Only around $1600.00... ;)

Hi Martin,
I did think this would drive You totally Nuts !!!! Good news is I have been using my old tripod even tho it's a little warped... meaning the camera has to be totally level to hold it. It needs a new bearing or something:( But I have been using it to shoot night shots and really slow shutter speeds just to learn how things look when I do .
Uh oh I am in trouble with improving this shot thru you then .... Can't spend a ton of $$$ on camera equipment at this time- sooooo I should stick to shooting old fallen apart houses maybe ...ha!
Thanks for your comment Martin. I appreciate it . Michele~

Mich,
Your framing and horizonal plains are fine... ;) It's just what the lens will do when shooting this type of shot, unless you spend a ton of money on a shift, tilt lens... ;)
I tricked you, because you knew this 1 would drive me crazy, but it doesn't... hehehe... ;P
However when shooting at a shutter speed less than 1/60th of a second, I strongly suggest using a tripod, or @ least a monopod...
You have stumped me on how to make it better, because I'm not a architectural shooter... ;(
Martin
Maybe a brown stone?
