Have you ever experienced the feeling, before even depressing the shutter, that the photo you?re about to take is going to be one of the best you?ve ever done? This was such a shot for me. I was at a neighborhood fair. People were watching some kind of entertainer. And I of coarse was watching the people. Suddenly directly across from me I spied this father and daughter. They looked up at me just as I locked on to them. This is the photo, one of the few I?ve ever taken without asking first, that resulted. Technically, from it?s superb digital grain and emotionally the young face painted girl almost scared yet strong protected by her father who not only looks like Tom Waits brother but has the devil tattooed on his arm. yep, you got it ... he looks like a look-alike of Tom Waits ... that was my first thought, when I saw the thumbnail. Great portrait, which should have more ratings.
