Very cool Jan. Do you smoke Ultimas? Those were the only cigs. I smoked. I quit 5 years ago and still miss them. They are hard to find here so when I see them at a store I think it;s a sign that I should smoke.HA!

Michele -- Not a habit I am proud of and I do try to respect other's feelings about being exposed to smoke. Eventually I will have to hide out in a special smoker's bunker somewhere in the middle of the desert before I am allowed to light up.

I LOVE Robins comment !!! It's great ... AND I don't know why BUT I am surprised that you are a smoker ...lol!!!
Most likely because there is hardly anywhere you can smoke in public anymore ...
Plus I don't know anymore smokers.. soo I was surprised. I know Paul Brumit smokes... and his image of a sign saying no smoking on the baseball field was another realization of where and when a person can smoke these days...
I used to try to smoke ... but was never much good at it...ha!!
I like the discusssion this image has brought about, and I do like the saturated, kinda phychodelic mood to it !! I rate it a 7/7 for all of these reasons!!!

Mel -- Thanks so much for looking at this and for your great comments. The only worry I have is that you may like the picture too much and reach for more cigarettes. Please do not do that; however, I have to confess I have quit and started smoking again a number of times and still smoke.

as a recovering smoke-aholic I have to say that this gives me cravings I don't want to have.....wonderful wonderful colours, Jan, and an outstanding composition. Enriched flavor it says on the pack, and it stands for your photo too....enriched beyond belief. Riny -- Thanks so much for your kind comment. As for my origins, the family on both sides come from various Eastern European countries and I am not Dutch. Just a variant of "John" in many places. I was born in the month of January which inspired my parents to name me "Jan".

Leo -- Thanks so much! I am glad you like it. I have been experimenting with a point-and-shoot the last week or so and I am having fun with it. However, going back to JPEG in-camera instead of RAW has really made me realize how much I like shooting in RAW format. The upside though is I have the small point-and-shoot with me all the time. I got the idea from seeing a few shots Doyle Chastain took that he would have otherwise missed if he didn't have something in his pocket or handy in one way or another.
