About This is a view of the Damnoensaduak Floating Market near Bangkok. The river gets very crowded in the early and mid-morning with both locals and tourists on boats, buying and selling goods.

This is a great capture James, very interesting picture and very colorful. Really fascinating looking at it, lots of people to see in their naturalness. a very good study of humnan you've captured here, not on the street but on a river.?!
great shot!!

Nice capture of the congestion at Damnoen Saduak Market. Isn't it a great place for photographers? When I was there, we rented a boat and went up the channel a little way. There was a woman squatting on a platform brushing her teeth using channel water. I wanted a picture so badly, but I just couldn't bring myself to snap it of that personal moment.

Thanks for your recent comment on my Delicate Arch pic. You mentioned wanting to visit the area for mountain biking. FYI, it is a great area for that, although I'm now sure how much you can do in Arches National Park. There are many possibilities, however, in neighboring Canyonlands National Park. -- Naomi

pat, i hate traffic as well. bangkok's traffic is legendary though (3 km/h at the worst times). i was once caught in that mess on my way to the airport. i called my travel agent to tell her i might not make my flight and asked her what i should do (with respect to my air ticket). she suggested i tell the taxi driver to drive faster :-(

this river traffic clears up fast.... once noon passes, there's noone out there.

Funny. I hate Miami's auto traffic but I never imagined River traffic.

This image is afeast for the eyes ... and the ears! I can just hear the sounds of the boats thudding as they bump into one another, and the water splashing as they paddle through the market, with voices from the buyers and sellers, calling out above the din. Very nice!

James -- An outstanding "street shot" with a lot of interesting detail. Like a Where is Waldo picture, I keep looking for more interesting things to find in it. It certainly explains the expression: "Teeming with Humanity".
--Best to you in your travels, Jan
