The resolution is not bad considering there is 15 km of atmospheric interference! A great view you have, Ina! Eb

Thank you Andre, I'm just starting to enjoy low light and night photography, something I haven't done much because I usually don't like to carry a tripod, and when I do, I'm chased by security guards :) But at home it's just a matter of freezing for a few minutes :) I have to yet get some decent shots of Eaton's Centre, and the Scotia Tower which eludes me... It turns brown or purple, never right - I can't get a single good clean image of it, so there are many challenges, before I even get into the grungy stuff :) Have a nice weekend! Ina

Hi Ina, It is going to take you a long time before you get over taking images of Toronto. (A good thing) I never get sick of this city. Andre

Thank you Harry, it's more like 9.5 miles... but still, I was surprised that my camera and lens could do this. I had to wait for a clear night - no haze, and no wind for the tripod to be stable for 30 seconds, and I used the black hat trick. The CN Tower is 553m (1,815 ft) tall, and the other buildings are pretty tall too. Here's a full size crop taken from a similar RAW picture. It lacks much detail, but reduced in size it appears slightly sharper. Best regards, Ina

Sure try a different battery, if you find the same thing then maybe there's an issue with the camera or that's just the way that camera/battery combination preforms. I'd done some timed exposures and do not recall it being exceptionally hard on the batteries.
Have a great day, Joe

Thank you very much John, yes, ten miles away :)the best downtown views are from the lake, but I can't complain, the balcony is handy for now. If I got closer though, there would be a lot more details :) Cheers, Ina

Joe, how would I know? Normally I can shoot 200+ pictures in JPEG on a full charge, but this has happened repeatedly with long exposures. I'll try other batteries, I have spare ones.

Thanks Joe, that's the lens magnification, in reality I don't have the same view with the naked eye :) My 20D can take about 5 shots in RAW at 30 secs each, after which the battery needs to be recharged :)

Thank you very much Phil, it's very deceiving because it's greatly magnified by the lens. In reality with the naked eye all I see is a tiny thing at 15 km away. Have a great weekend, Ina
