I have already done that. They have brought out the A100 which I don't feel is an upgrade from my 7D except for the 10Mp. I have contacted Sony and they have not been able to say that a pro or semi pro body is on the way, at least not this year. They have released pro lenses though which makes me think they will eventually bring out a better body. Can I wait more than a year though??? Nikon are looking like the way I might go.

Collin:

Konika Minolta was aquired by Sony. Sony is releasing a new body which should have the matching threads for your lenses, so not all is lost. Do some seaching on "Konika Minola Bought Out".

A new body hey, how exciting. What did you have in mind? D80? I'd love to upgrade for a few more Mp but sadly Minolta threw in the towel. Quite disappointing as I have invested a lot in lenses.

Hey Collin:

I do shoot 12mm. I'm going to try Hugin, but if it is not better, I think it's time make this purchase after I aquire a new camera body (cha-ching!).

Hey Michael,
For someone like yourself that is selling fine art landscapes then PTGUI or another that allows lossless construction of panos is probably a wise investment. I read you mention that you don't use wider than 28mm when stitching, well with ptgui you can use as wide as fisheye - no problems. I usually use 18mm when I do 360s but most people that do VR 3D stuff use fisheye lenses (6shot 360X180). Have you seen Roger Williams panos on usefilm, he uses a Nikon 10.5 + ptgui.

Hey Collin:

Thanks, yeah, this one gets up there.
Also tried out PT GUI, very nice software, may have to purchase it.

Beautiful shot Michael, well worth the effort. I'm guessing 2 rows of vertical shots? With 15 shots the full size must have awesome detail. You could make a huge print! Well done.
Regards,
Collin.

Wow, that took dedication! Great lighting, clarity and wonderful color on this snow covered cityscape, Michael. Would you consider putting it in panoramic format to see it a bit larger? Because I'm sure it has a lot of great detail! Ina
