About No PS work here. This image was shot on a $1 polaroid plastic land camera (with a shocking scratched plastic lens and flash with virtually no power at all... lol) picked up from thrift store.
The effect was made during development while the emulsion was still very soft. I used sharp objects to scratch into and move the emlulsion around and reheated the photo to keep it "pliable" until I was reasonably pleased with the result.
For a bit of a joke, I entered this crazy creation into a photo comp... and won an award for it! ROFL! :)

LOL Al!!!
The world is a strange place indeed!

I very much look forward to seeing your 70's polaroid manipulated images! I do hope you find them :)

Aniko :)

I'll see if I can find any of them in the boxes and if so I'll scan a couple and post. I also did a gallery show back in the day of images from the television, sometimes totally abstract between channel distortion. It was very popular at the time. The world is a strange place!

Hi again Al!

I was inspired to make some of these images from a second hand 70's book a friend gave me, where I saw this done. It is becoming ridiculously difficult to purchase the very scarce film required to do such manipulations. And it is outrageously expensive, hence I think I've pretty well done my dash on creating these...

I would love to see your manipulations... it's a lot of fun mucking around with polaroids isn't it ???! :)

Best Wishes to you,
Aniko :)

I used to do these Polaroid manipulations in the early seventies and actually had a show in a gallery with mostly this type of work. I didn't think that you could still modify the image as they changed the formula to make it not so easy to "mess up" your picture. ;-)

Many thanks Dear Shirley.

This method is also very successful with making wild and whacky original CD covers (which I do)... people look at these images thinking they are photoshopped (or other programme)... no... a kitchen fork, a knife, a pen, a cigarette lighter.. lol!!!!!!!! :)

Warm Wishes,
Aniko :)
