Thanks for the info Jan . . . (Thank you FOUR months later - but thank you all the same)! As it happens I did study art and find myself familiar with this particular history . . . but I'm glad you posted the link for others . . . I imagine many think there is only one of these in existence! Cleveland Smith put up a similar image and I believe I noted the information you cited there. :)

Wonderful composition of "The Thinker". I love how you have the bulding in the background - excellent DOF.
Looks great in B & W.

I like the contrasts here - the dark figure against the light background, the curves of the crouching figure against the vertical lines of the columns and, above, all the human figure next to a man made building.
Black and white was exactly right for this.

Hey Thanks Renato! The Museum actually goes all the way around and the statue is in a courtyard. A beautiful setting . . . and I didn't use a polorizer . . . Just a UV filter. But it turned out rather well. I may post other views at a later time too.

Beautiful shot, Doyle!
I like the angle you choosen to take this shot with the museum on the background (and in perspective). The polarized sky is also great.
Well done!
Best wishes, Renato

Love the dramatic shot. Just as an FYI, there are a number of The Thinkers in the US and elswhere, done as authorized casts. For a complete list and some history see: http://www.thinker.org/legion/about/subpage.asp?subpagekey=65
