Patrizia - Capisco un po. Ho studiato Italiano per un ano solamente, ma per scrivere... non c'e troppo dificile.
You can see that the yellow lines are not quite perfectly strait. It was moved with my hand (in as linear a motion as I am able, I suppose). You can see that the camera also went one way then back--this can be confirmed by the yellow u shape at the right hand side.
Knowing that tells you a bit more about the blue pattern--it also had to be one way then the other with a little turn somewhere. Again this can be seen where the end of the blue object turns back down on itself.

Dear James,
Thanks for your extensive message and for the clarity. I thought that you maintained firm the camera and moved only the yellow lights. This because the lines “written” by the blue spiral are so perfectly clear. I suppose now that with linear motion you intend a motion helped with tracks, am I correct?

I will try to explain in more detail.
The blue is a rope light in a spiral on the ceiling. The yellow is from some incandescent lamps with a single bulb each.
If it had been a still shot the yellow would have been three yellow discs (the lamp shades) with white circles at the centers (the bulbs) and the blue would have been a spiral pattern of small blue dots (the individual bulbs within the plastic rope).
The shot was created by some fairly linear motion on my part (camera motion).
This motion transformed each bulb into a small paint brush leaving the image before you in my camera.
I hope that makes it clear. Feel free to ask questions in Italian.

Not easy at all your works with lights … I do not really understand well, am I correct in thinking that the blue light was not in movement?

Hei..i like your abstract photoes. U r so lucky in one thing, for getting the chance of playing with a 35mm camera thanks to your Dad. I dont think one can be completed just with digital stuff.
I appriciate your work..and i think your path is really on the abstract compositions.. also i think you have to widen your range by the attempts you make to take real things as abstracts..all the best..
