Annemette, the cranes in the background is the port of Long Beach/Los Angeles where the cargo ships come in all day and night. The Black Pearl is sitting here for awhile while filming the newest Pirates of the Carribean movie. It does offer a strange shot.

What a great vessel that looks so beautiful and powerful but also weird in that serring with the modern cranes in the background ready to load the ships with containers. I adore the blue water:-)
Take care,
Annemette

Thank you Jessie, sometimes the water is beautiful in San Pedro. The cranes are really that blue and at night with the lights they are very pretty.

Lisa, The cranes were a problem, and this was a close as we could get as the other side was blocked, locked and guarded! A few days later we saw it on the news away from the dock, of course it was a work day for us.

I haven't had the chance to go down to the docks and take a look at the "Black Pearl" yet.

Would have been nice if all those cranes wern't in the picture. This will be on my list of "to do's" this weekend.
