Yes Gayle . . . it's really a sunflower . . . and the florist delivered two huge arrangements of them. Some were yellow and some were a reddish color. I don't know how they get the reddish ones . . . dye, spray, colored water or they just grow some that way. Whatever the cause . . . I went to touch one and discovered right away that they were all quite real!

Still . . . children have their points too. Glad you liked the Sunflower Macro . . . I'll be putting up two more later today and (likely) one tomorrow.
. . . and you can bet we had a good, though tiring time at the dog show! Will be adding a couple of those today too!

Amazing shot ! I thought it was banana's in the 'thumbnail' . . . Sheesh..... then it turns into my favortite flower ..'Sunflower'

I love labs... actually I love all animals + dogs are barely animals more like kids... that must have been fun at the dog show.

Fabulous detail - look at those purple hairy bits! Something I can't do with my A2, though I see you went to some lengths (excuse the pun) to get this. The contrasting colours work well also.

Thanks . . . We have two registered Pembroke Welsh Corgis and a Black Cocker Spaniel rescue. My wife has the male, Darby; I have the female, Kaylee. Both won ribbons for obedience and Kaylee even won a first place trophy for obedience. They're very smart. The cocker went but enjoyed it less . . . he's a couch potato! We were on the show committee . . . everything from driving judges and feeding them to - as you may have guessed - shooting photos!! There were several beautiful sheepdogs there too!

Thanks . . . the lens I used for this, in conjunction with the extension tubes, is what really pulled it up I think. A different process than the spider (Yes, Plato . . . my Last spider was Socrates). As a member of the Show Committee we didn't show the corgis . . . but we still had a blast.

This really looks beautiful with the purple inside the yellow sunflower. Fascinating as was it the legs of your beloved hairy spider - Sokrates??:-) Nice macro indeed.
