I like the contrast between the cool and warm colors. I wish the sky was a little bit darker to balance out the tonality of the photo. The contrast between the sky and the rocks and dark area seems to be drawing my eye up to the top left of the photo. Otherwise its a nice shot. I like the horizontal better than the vertical. however I think this shot may be a bit too wide. Maybe crop a bit off the left and a good ammount off the right.

Hi Mike, I probably should've attatched the previous rework to this photo. Thanks for pointing me to the other one, though. You're making it very difficult to both compete with and to choose between the various settings... Excellent stuff!

Can you describe the gradient a little more? I'm not sure what you mean. Perhaps you meant the sunlight falling through the mist of the waterfall?

Once the artwork is up and the gallery opening is done, there is very little to do but follow through on orders.
Thanks for the commentary. I'm going to have to stare at this one a while later and see if I have some more detail that I can add without making it too fake looking. It's almost at the point now where if I push the image any more you would know it's a false composite.

Hi Mike, How's it going with the exhbition? Frankly, I find that more important than the photo...:)
I do like what you pulled off here, and thanks for the insight in the composite aspects of this image, I was wondering how you pulled it off, as the contrasts between light and dark are pretty fierce in this setting. Very well done.
In answer to your questions:
Good, not bad.
Colour = good.
But, nitpicking, I think the scene calls for more. The backdrop of the waterfall is still a bit dark, and as the light is so marvellous, with the rays of light through the mist, the striking lights on the vegetation of the rocks on the right, that the attention is solely drawn towards that area, leaving the left side of the photo a bit "underexposed" (not literally, but more in terms of attention being drawn away from it).
I can't help feeling that moving to the right a bit more, thus chosing a different POV would've consised the vista more, resulting in a more powerful setting, but I'm also aware that that migh've been physically impossible.
Not really sure what it is, though. The photo is good, very good, even. Yet there's something that bothers me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe decreasing the brightness of the sky would help, or cropping the image slightly (although I wouldn't know how)
Hope you see what I mean. It's very intriguing, and as it keeps me rambling on, it is a good photo, just because it does make me think...:)

nice exposure and movement. I would have cropped out that building off the the left though. the mist and the sunlight give it great substance.

A good one Michael. I like the way the sun is warming up the bushes and the contrast with the coolness of the water and the waterfall. I think I would prefer a slightly darker and more saturated sky but that's just my taste.
