African wind full of sand? It covered a long distance then!
Thanks a lot for the explanation, Giuseppe!

More sharpening can decrease the clearness of the picture if, in my case, the glasses of the window are quite dirty (African wind full of sand)! Any phenomenon has an explanation, as you well know. Ciao Nick.

Thank you for the attachment, Giuseppe! I meant a little bit more sharp focusing at the time of capture but your experiment give me much to think about.
Indeed! I am stunning that sharpening can also bring and overall decrease of the clarity of an image!
Giuseppe, this one seems to be a very special case going beyond all "officially accepted photography rules"!
Sharpening that diminishes clarity, just think about it!
Alone for this, a great bravo for creative thining.
Keep well,
Nick

Let's try Nick. The attachment shows the maximum of sharpness that can be increased without distroying the picture. As you see the drops are more evident but the whole clearness seems to decrease.

Wow! Excellent creative work, Giuseppe! It reminds me vague on the flower parts in the garden paintings of Monet.
Perhaps a liiitle more sharpness at the background? Or would that perhaps turn the falling raindrops too unsharp?
Very creative image!
Have a nice saturday night!

Beautiful, Giuseppe! A nice "blurry" photo study makes a very pleasant abstract! It does capture the essence of a summer shower - and such a beautiful garden is implied! Eb

Grazie Maurizio, sono contento che ti piaccia. Non so se ti piacerà invece la farfalla che ti avevo promesso e che ho postato prima di questa. Con gli insetti sono proprio un principiante. Buona domenica.

"How beautiful is the rain! After the dust and heat, In the broad and fiery street, In the narrow lane, How beautiful is the rain! How it clatters along the roofs Like the tramp of hoofs! How it gushes and struggles out From the throat of the overflowing spout!
Across the window-pane It pours and pours; And swift and wide, With a mudy tide, Like a river own the gutter roars The rain, the welcome rain!"
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I really like this image. A colorful abstract and the rain makes it stronger. Wish you would have added the camera settings, however The rain shows that it was a slow shutter speed and really brings out the drops of rain! Well done and captured
Congrats
