I have Photoshop Elements and I did read about the cloning tool in the help. I understood that it can be used for taking away some small things like scratches and dust, but not for whole trees!
Anyway, I have to try that out and see how it works. Thanks again for the information.
Keep well,
Nick

Nick, clone is the oldest, simpler and most used device of Photoshop. You can delete anything you want placing on it a part of your image: in my case, pieces of the orange sky. Very quick and easy. When will you buy Photoshop? Good night.

Greeeeeeeat! I find the attachment much better in its straightness! It keeps much more of that simplicity on the mounts. The mountain, the sky, and that's it.
But don't think that I don't like those wonderful contours of firs when they are completely black in front of a golden sky. It is only this particular image that I am talking about.
BTW how did you manage to erase the firs and still preserve the background? Oh ma, I have so much to learn yet! ;-)
Have a wonderful sunday!

All choises will be also emotional choises, Giuseppe. We don't think only with our brain, as we don't feel only with our heart. The completely strict photographic eye simply doesn't exist. (Exactly as the completely strict mathematical brain doesn't exist ;-))
The image is great in its fantastic coloring and straight sincerity. I would wish those trees away, though this might be only a vague impression of mine. I think that the straightness would be greater then. But on the other hand, their nice contours stand very well in front of the golden light.
Very nicely done!
Keep it up,
Nick

Colours are fantastic with the sky - just right! The amount of noise would suggest that you pushed exposure and saturation quite a bit. If there had been just a little bit more latitude, I would have liked to see a small amount of detail in the shadow. The composition is remarkable with the frame split at the diagonal. Well done, Giuseppe! Eb

A presto, Ale
