hi there, sorry i am tardy especially since you took my previous hibiscus critique to heart ;> This one is great!...no hot spots and retains pixel information (natural hue+details) on the upper petals...the blues and greens are very complementary colors and well chosen dof...good work, gurl! regards, gayle

Thank you Mary. I like the drops too, and these are from rain, not a spray bottle. Wish I could take credit for the color, but the tree made up its own mind.

This is brilliant- the colour of the flower and the greenery too. Natural and strong. I always like the drops.

Doyle, thank you for your comment, glad you like it. As to the darker frame, which I normally use, I tried it and thought the darker frame took away from the flower as the background is already dark.....IMO. Love you anyway.

Thank you Ray for you honest critique. It is very hard to take this flower, many shots were deleted before I found this one. Sorry you can not grow them so well in the UK. I will think of you when I look at the tree each day on my way in the house. I think the pinky peachy apricoty color is very appropriate. We will have to call Crayola and have them name a new color. :) :)

Critiquers Corner Image? Hmmmmm . . . free to NITPICK . . . (I mean critically evaluate) . . . the nuances of composition and form . . . color and tone . . . DOF and focus . . . BG and foreground . . . lightlevels and subject matter . . . framing and presentation.
I like it! Personally though, I think the darker frames enhance the colors better! That's all I got.
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~ (King of Cool)

Looks good to me Marlyce, such fine details and colour in this one. You can almost smell it and feel the waterdrops on the leafs. Goes to my fav. Take care,

Beautifully detailed Marlyce with a lovely dof and gorgeous colour tones with those wonderful droplets decorating the bloom. You are so lucky having a whole tree of them they just don't survive Winter in the UK.
I always take a long hard look at my florals and consider whether or not they have over or underexposed parts to them and you know, a lot depends on how the light source strikes your subject. The outer edges of the petals can be almost transparent and if we expose for that then the thicker concentration going towards the centre can then look too dark. A no win situation. I personally think you have done well here, it is a delightful and pleasing floral study and a flower that I think is one of the more difficult to do justice to. Well done to you sweetie. Now can I call this one a pinky peachy apricoty colour??:):) Very best wishes.....Ray
