Shot of Downtown Manhattan as the Sun Dipped Behind the Buildings. I Loved the silhouettes the Brooklynn Bridge made as well as the buildings. Thoughts? Shot at 60mm F2.8 50-ISO 1/2500th Shutter
Hugo, My Friend...You are so right. I did take a longer shutter speed one with a smaller Aperture. I am about to up-load it. Let me know what you think. I really appreciate all of you comments on my images. I am very sorry I haven't had the time to leave any comments on a lot of your images. I just got finished with moving from Phoenix up to our house in prescott. once the dust settels I have a lot of catching up to do. Best Regards Sam
You and Rob each uploaded the "same - but different" shot of a Manhattan sunset. I like the unusual colors and tones in this shot - not your average "sunset" shot of this skyline, and while Rob's shot is "warm and fuzzy" this shot gives me an erie feeling. Can't explain it. Well seen and well shot.
Thanks for filling in the camera settings. Very interesting to see, I would've guessed you'd use a much slower shutter speed for this photo, and perhaps a smaller aperture too.
The silhouettes of Manhattan are quite eye catching, although I think a bit more contrast and details in the buildings and foreground would make the balance in this photo much stronger, and only add to the feeling of depth and distance. It looks a bit underexposed as is, maybe that could be resolved in PS, if you shot in RAW; it would allow a Higher Dynamic range; without overexposing the sky, yet with a bit more details and contrasts in the dark areas. A small aperture and a slower shutterspeed could already have assisted there, but considering the rahter harsh contrasts in the backlit image, you might need to superimpose an exposed image of the sky with a superimposed image of the skyline, bridge and water, if you see what I mean.
