Thanks again John for your visit and kind comment. There are lots of windmills still in our country, and most of them protected by associations and lots of volunteers keeping them in shape. Soem get some subsidy from the Dutch government.
Take care,

Klaas

Hi Maxime, good to hear from you again, I had my hollidays the last 4 weeks, and before and after very busy with my work, so less time to comment and post.
I'm happy you liked this one, B&W is with this subject IMO a good choise. I agree with you about the timeless-ness of this photo.
Thanks for adding me to your friends, one cannot forget to look and coment that way, I will do the same.
Best regards, good to hear from you, take care,

Klaas

It is a classic shot. In B&W I feel better the atmosphere and I see the focus attention of the subject. The perspective is very impressive. The tonal sort and composition are ideal regarding to my taste and the sky above in fact provide timeless sense for the issue.
Best regards: Maxime

Hi Hugo,
good to hear something from you again, your comment very much apriciated as you know. You're right colour indeed has it's merits, but this time I was thinking that this windmill was build long ago, and there were no possibilities to take a coulour shot, not even a B&W one. For that reason this time a "timeless" B&W version.
Thanks for commenting, take care, and have a nice whitsuntide weekend,

Klaas

Hi Klaas,

Simple, but very effective. I like the tonal range in the B&W image, and think that the conversion to B&W creates a timeless feel, eventhough I presume the colour version also has its merits. Very nice photo.

Cheers,

Hugo

Klaas

I apreciate your kind comment Doyle, I'm happy you like it and I had the same feeling about the "lots" of sky above. Was thinking about crop a bit off, but liked it much more like this. Gave it a classical look by using B&W, because I think it suits the image very well. Thanks a lot.
Take care, regards,

Klaas

Hi Laura, I wouldn't dare to use "your" windmill for this one, no it's the one next to yours, in fact almost the same, because they are brothers or sisters. Bur very good seen. Thanks for your nice words on this one.

Thanks Mary for you rkind words, I was thinking of cropping a little bit of sky off, but I liked it also better with this amount of sky, so happy I didn't
First I added some black frame arround the photo, and than used my favorite frame.
All the best, take care,

Klaas

Klaas I like it in B&W. I always like both as the atmosphere and feel is so different about the same thing! This is a wonderful image and so exactly beautiful as a framed picture- I like the amount of sky. Frame really sets it off.
