About This is for Klaas! This windmill is located in Nederland, Texas (where I grew up). I shot this in November 2004, hence the Christmas decorations on the lawn! It is impossible to shoot this face on, as there is a utility pole almost directly in front of the structure. This houses the Dutch Museum.

Most of my relatives as well as myself lived in the area. We all evacuated North and West prior to the storm making landfall. Each of us sustained some wind damage. Hence, my reason for moving! I don't wanna go through another evacuation!

No Klaas, I moved about a hundred miles northwest of Nederland. That area was hard hit by Hurricane Rita.

Thanks Laura, I'm very honoured you dedicate this one to me. I see that this is not a real one used for working. But you wrote about a museum, is it specialy built for the museum? Nice that the name of the village is Nederland, I've heard of it, are there any more Dutch thing over there, and do you live still in the neighbourhood? It's a pitty there are so much utility poles, but no problem, I like this one as it is. Thanks again, take care,

Klaas

Beautiful image of a special windmill, indeed.Wonderful colours and composition. The roof is quite interesting--in two layers and blue framed windows with decorative white curtains resemble on warm, home atmosphere..I wonder if it was of the same design before..Very interesting museum..Mr Klaas will be very glad to see it,for sure.
Kind regards
Meldijana
