If you think it's art, it probably is, if you think not, than it isn't. Depends on your own idea's of art. But I like the composition and the details in it, so maybe you made it art.

Great title and so appropriate for this image Laura. Being from the South (Texas IS still considered South I think) and the "Heartland", you have, probably, similar thoughts to me on this subject. Having seen what SOME people consider art and watched them get paid for it . . . I'd have to say this IS art . . . or, conversely, if what I have seen pass for art in the past IS art . . . then this is FINE art. )
Then again . . . if the subject is NOT art, then the photo of it still could be art . . . Arrrrrgh! I'm off to find a tylenol. Stimulating image.
