A really beautiful photo, Jan. I love the perspective. And the composition. The translucency of the flower is particularly wonderful. The only suggestionI would, and it's a very minor point, make would be to remove the slight reflections at the very bottom of the flower. Well done!! Steve

Thank you for you comments and very well formulated analysis. I picked this one out of a batch of several shots at different angles. I often cannot find the words to describe why I prefer a particular shot over another one but your comments really make sense to me.
Although I spend a lot of effort on the positioning of the flower before I posted it I agree with your comment about the positioning now. It does look better when moved more to the right.

One thing that caught my eye immediately and set this one apart was the perspective. This is not a usual angle and hence makes it more interesting. Beautiful capture of the flower. I like how you've included the back of the flower too so it looks dimensional and not flat. Like the subtle shadow. Just one thing, I would've liked it more if it had positioned more to the right, so the eye had more space to wander from left and then land on the major part of the flower.
