Well done getting this much fine detail through a window Kathy! And so adorable a capture with her wee tongue poking out :)) Nice conversion to b&w. It's so hard to know how far to push the highlights without blowing out and at the same time, trying to make skin tones less 'pastey'. I think you've found a nice balance here though. Great job.
Thanks also for your feedback on girl/girlII. Seems both you and Andre feel the same as me about the darker version. But being able to offer 2 variations up for critique is an excellent way to discover what works and what doesn't. I really appreciate the time you took to compare. Thanks again!

Nice balance in the greyscale on this one Kathy. The subtle backlight on the little girl's profile works well too. I'm thinking on it's own the pose is not the strongest. But as one of a series, it would have more impact.
What I mean is, I could see this as one of three in a series framed on the wall. The other two could have her head tilted slightly towards the camera.

A lovely portrait of a little girl's total concentration, whether in thoughts, daydreams or something tangible out of sight. The lighting is fabulous and the mono tones superb.
