I totally understand your viewpoint, Mark and thanks for that. But I contrasted-out the sky on purpose. The sky was a gey color and is still there on the originals but I find that some times the sky area is used too much to set the tone. As I wanted the focus to be on the boats therefore I had to knock the sky area back a bit.
Hope this explains and cheers for the creative input and critique...something that seems to be lacking on this site at the moment...perhaps

Hi Manu
I like the fishing boat series. The only concern I have is the washed out sky. With no detail in it it makes the top of the image too high contrast. Maybe under exposing the image as well to record detail there and a composite in PS would work and for all the film purists out there you could have used a grad filter which would have helped retain some detail in the sky.
Cheers mate Mark

Appreciate your comment Anna....for me it was the dumpyness or solidity of the vessel along with its powerful red color.
Thanks and look forwards to read many more of your comments

Get yerself down there Brian its worth it..thanks for the comments...yes I tweaked the contrast a little in Rawshooter (fab and free. This allowed me to get rid of the grey sky and push the viewers eyes to the subject.
Its a little series that I will be posting over the next few days and is probably best seen as a group.
Cheers mate
Manu PS. Get down to the beach..
