Nice piece of work. I don't know that I would want a large grapefruit staring at me in the morning. Maybe something juicier? The grapefruit looks really dried out.

Claudio,
Thank you so very much with your kind comments! I am so glad that you like this image! i've printed this as big as possible, and at 1:1 resolution, it takes over the room...so finding a place to hang it is getting tricky!
thank you again my friend!
best regards, -Joel

Hola:

Phil,
thank you very very much! very kind words my friend!
I didn't make it that far south in NSW. I was on location for 10 months in the Gold Coast, and my weekend rides would only take as far south as Byron Bay. (how I miss that place!). I owe it to myself to return, and go on an adventure around the south. A very good friend lives in Canberra, and what i've seen in pictures, I must see with my eyes some day.
hope all is well, and thanks again for the comments!
best, -Joel

Oh, Joel, what a stunning image! The comp, the colours, the lighting, the sharpness, all contribute to making this one top class image!
Thanks for your recent comment on my 'Approaching Storm' image! This pic was taken near Denman, in the Upper Hunter Valley in NSW.
The pic that I won the BIP with, yesterday, was taken at Collector in NSW, which is inbetween Canberra and Goulburn.
Cheers
Phil

Howdy!
I was going for that painted look, like in a Mark Ryden painting...hense the long lens, dead on flat look. I started out looking at it 3/4 down, and just about every angle... my heart was happy when I saw this one...so...had to go with it! It's lit w/ my swirling maglight in a pitch black room. i'll take another crack at the 3/4 again.
Thanks for the honest comments Petal!! (we need more of that!)
cheers, -Joel

Hye neighbor!! Like it how you've put this grapefruit in the spotlight... now you've got the hard shadow, but the rest of the pic looks a bit flat... Nice details and colors... good try!! Just an idea: why not shoot at an angle...
